But in 2011, after serving four years for the murder of her housemate, Meredith’s conviction, along with her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito’s, was overturned on appeal, and she returned to her native Seattle.

At the end of last year, the decision was made to re-convict the two former lovers, whose relationship understandably did not stand the pressures of being in prison.

Since her return to the US, Amanda has been studying at the University of Washington, writing for the West Seattle Herald, and now has plans to marry her musician boyfriend - Colin Sutherland.

According to the Seattle Times, Knox’s husband to be wrote to her while she was in prison, but they have only recently started dating.
