Katie Amos, 30, was on a sightseeing trip in New York with her partner Lee Johnston, 29, when she went into labour 11 weeks early.

But, with the tiny tot unable to travel until March, Katie and Lee have been forced to remain in the hospital.

And, as they are not fully covered by their travel insurance, the couple are facing a whopping medical bill in the region of £130,000.

Without any clothes, money, friends, family or a familiar face to say hello to in New York, the couple are (understandably) said to be ‘scared’.

But, thankfully, help is at hand.

One of the couple’s friends, Richard Crow, has launched a mammoth fundraising effort in a bid to get the new parents and baby home to the UK.

And it has even caught the attention of several celebrities.

Celebrity mum-of-five Katie Price, 36, picked up on the story and was quick to offer her support.

She tweeted her 2 million followers to say: “I hope their insurance company pay, my insurance company paid and were amazing when I had Jett in France.”

So far, over £6000 has been raised - and donations continue to flood in.

In an emotional Facebook message, father Lee wrote: “I believe it’s love that makes the world go round!

“The world would spin a lot faster if we all remembered this next time we hit a hard time in life.

“Happy New Year everyone miss you all thank you so much.”
