From slinky white figure huggers to oversized metallic gowns, there were plenty of statement making outfits at The American Music Awards last night. We pick the great, the good and the not so great outfits from the red carpet.

Katy and Christina nailed it in their frocks

Wowza, Christina showed of her curves beautifully in her long length, cut out dress. I heart her Marilyn Monroe inspired style and seriously cant get over, how amazing her figure is. The slick of red lippy was a match made in heaven as well - high fives Aguilera! Katy’s floor length Oscar De La Renta gown was perfect for the red carpet and suited the star beautifully. The kooky box clutch gave the classic frock a quirky ‘Perry’ twist and her soft grey nails were unexpected but were a chic finish. A well worthy winner!

Heidi and Kelly just missed out in the style stakes

Its not very often that model, Heidi gets it wrong, but there’s something just not quite right about this lace dress on the star. Beauty wise, she looks gorge as always, but this odd messy looking styled dress isn’t the most flattering and kind of looks unfinished.

I love how Kelly has styled up her ladylike Rami Al Ali outfit with a Perspex clutch and spiked head wear but all the detail and layers of tulle fabric seem to swamp the petite star, leaving her look a little frumpy.

Fashion fail…

Emma and Miley both missed the stylish spot with their outfits.

This oversized, loose fit gown is far too much for actress Emma, and looks a bit like she’s playing dress up in her mums clothes! Too much fabric gives her a look a shapeless finish and lacks glamour points – try harder next time please miss Roberts!
