On my wedding night, my husband said his ex-wife’s name in his sleep. I lay there all night worrying he was dreaming of her and regretting marrying me. What should I do? Iris, by email

Marrying for the second time inevitably throws up memories of the first time around, so it’s entirely plausible that your husband thought about his ex at some point during your wedding day. Most dreams are just the subconscious filing of thoughts, past and present, and jumbling them all up. Just dreaming of her means nothing. If he seems perfectly happy and content otherwise, ignore it. If he seems anxious, he may be worried he’ll repeat the same mistakes. The solution for a happy marriage, as always, is to talk it through.
