Standing out in a saturated job market is proving more and more difficult. You know you’ve got what it takes, but you just can’t seem to get yourself noticed among the other 500 ‘passionate’ and ‘hardworking’ applicants. And it’s making us all, well, a little fed up.

But don’t give up hope, turn to your iPhone for help, because new app Debut has landed, and it might just be your digital secret to success – hurrah!

How it works is your upload a profile listing a few key bits of info about yourself, and then just relax and play away at games. Yes, really!

How it works is that certain games and results can determine whether you are the right candidate for positions going in different companies, and if you fit the bill you could end up with an internship or new position – just like that! It really is great if you’re trying out a new career or are a recent graduate.

For example, The Seeker from L’Oréal is a free running game where the player navigates a maze exploring aspects of the L'Oréal's brand (Diesel, Entrepreneurship, Garnier, Science and Innovation), and aims to present the less well known aspects of the colosal company.

Or if banking is your bag, then AgileMinds from Deutsche Bank would be a good one to play, as it sees players go through 4 different levels using skills and abilities that are essential to success in the type of jobs they offer.

If game playing isn’t your strong point, then fret not as there’s also the chance you’ll get headhunted for a position at your dream company too, as they get the chance to browse through user profiles too to seek out the freshest talent.

You could even get an invite to an event or be fast-tracked to an assessment centre. And with giant companies like L’Oreal, Microsoft and Ernest and Young on board, it really could be the first step in carving out a life long career.

So long hours spend filling out repetitive mind-numbing application forms…
