Back in the late 80s and early 90s, ITV's Press Gang was dominating children's TV.

The show focused on a children's newspaper, the Junior Gazette, produced by the local comprehensive school.

Created by Steven Moffat, not only was it light-hearted relief for its young viewers, the show also tackled relevant topics of the time including child abuse, solvent abuse and even firearms control.

Plus, who could forget the Lynda/Spike relationship drama?

If, like us, you loved the show back in the day, chances are you'll want to know what the cast are up to now and where else you may have seen them.

Don't worry, we've got you covered.

Julia Sawalha (Lynda)

Since her role as Lynda Day, editor of the Junior Gazette in Press Gang, Julia Sawalha, sister of Loose Women's Nadia, has been keeping herself relatively busy in the acting world. You're probably most likely to recognise her from Absolutely Fabulous in which she played Edina's cynical daughter Saffron. She's also been in the BBC TV series Remember Me and Jonathan Creek. Most recently she's lent her voice to the animated series My Pony.

Friends Reunion: tender Jennifer Aniston supports Matthew Perry

Running for 43 episodes, Press Gang was a huge hit with fans and still has a cult-like following today.

Last year, Julia Sawalha hinted that she was keen for a Press Gang reunion, 30 years after the show first aired.

Speaking to PA News Agency, Julia said, "Ah that would be great, I think it would take some producer to get us all together."

She continued, "I would be up for it, I think Lee (Ross) would, I know Kelda (Holmes) would be, Dexter (Fletcher) probably would be but he is on a very different path at the moment, but he is one of those people who throws himself at anything he wanted to do and he will do it well.

“It’s all up to Steven, I think Steven’s answer would be you have to get everyone in the same room and I think that is what he said many years ago."

If you're keen for some major nostalgia, Press Gang is actually available to watch on BritBox now.
