The England manager continues to capture the nation's hearts, as he is revealed to be a HUGE Bake Off fan
The Great British Bake Off is back very soon and hailed England Manager Gareth Southgate is said to be an OBSESSED fan. Just like the rest of us then.
But a source has said he's such a huge fan that he wants to make an appearance on GBBO.
The close friend told Daily Star: “Gareth is obsessed with the Bake Off.
"It would be a dream come true to get the chance to appear on the show – although he’d probably go to pieces meeting Prue and Paul!"
Apparently, the 40-year-old gent - who led the England team the furthest they've been in the World Cup tournament for years - is such a Bake Off buff that he hosts themed parties.
The source continued to hint that Gareth is keen to be asked on the celebrity version of the show. Quite frankly, we can't think of anyone else we'd rather get in the tent right now.
We just wonder if he'd be prepared to swap his waistcoat for an apron?
When is Great British Bake Off back on?
We don't have an exact date for the return of GBBO, but the teaser advert aired earlier this week on Channel 4 (remember: it's no longer on BBC).
Who will present Great British Bake Off?
Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig are back on presenting duties (yay!), with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith returning as judges (sob no sign of Mary Berry returning).
Who are the GBBO 2018 contestants?
Channel 4 haven't released this information yet, but stay tuned to get all the details.
