TOWIE's Amy Childs has been left feeling terrified in her own home after she was confronted by a masked man trying to break into her house.

The TOWIE star, 34, was at home with her fiancé Billy Delbosq and children Polly, eight, Ritchie, six, and two-year-old twins Billy and Millie, when she heard a bang on the roof, a source tells Closer.

Amy and Billy – who got engaged in April 2023 – moved into their £1.7million mansion in Billericay, Essex, last May and have shared a number of photos and videos on social media of the swanky pad, even launching an Instagram account to show off the renovations.

Our source says, ‘Amy was at home with her family and heard a bang on the roof. She went to open the curtains in her bedroom and saw an intruder trying to open her balcony doors wearing a balaclava.

‘Luckily, it seems like Amy spooked the burglar who then legged it – leaving Amy and Bill in a state of shock.

‘The police came but no one has been caught yet. Amy has really tight security, so it was a big shock.’

Amy and Billy’s luxurious family home has five bedrooms, a home gym and a stunning open-plan kitchen and dining room. The entrance features an incredible five-tier glass chandelier with a large window above the front door.

The insider adds, ‘This is Amy’s absolute dream home, she’s worked so hard to make it the perfect place to bring up her children so having someone try to break in has left her and Billy both feeling really shaken up. Bill’s been an absolute rock for her though, she’s leaning on him and he’s doing his best to help her cope with the shock.’

The attempted break-in comes at a particularly hard time for Amy, whose mum Julie was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery last month after suffering a heart attack. Amy wrote on Instagram that her ‘world tipped upside down’ after her mum’s medical emergency.

She wrote, ‘I know how hard it is to speak about mum, but you’re on the mend, you’re so strong.’ Amy added, ‘The past few weeks have been a whirlwind and so heartbreaking, but you are loved and adored by everyone.’

Our source adds, ‘All Amy’s pals are rallying around, especially with her going through such a stressful time with her mum’s health.’
