In last night’s X Factor audition show viewers saw twin brothers Kyle and Joshua Brooks take the judges by storm.
The duo previously auditioned for the X Factor in 2014 when they were both 15-years-old and got to the judge’s houses stage of the competition. There, Louis Walsh (their mentor at the time) told the pair to return in a couple of years because they were not ready.
This season, the twins - who are now 17-years-old - re-auditioned in front of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger and got through to Bootcamp.
Their home life has been well-documented, and it's been reported that their parents have struggled with heroin addiction in the past. The two brothers have lived with their grandmother Colette, 61 since they were 18-months-old after their mum and dad - Samantha and Daniel Gibbs - gave them up.
A source told The Sun: “Josh and Kyle’s parents were ravaged by addiction and incapable of looking after the children.
“Colette [their nan] stepped in and has been caring for them ever since.”
Kyle and Joshua also have a younger brother, Liam, 11, who also lives with their nan.
The brothers have since spoken out about their parents to The Sun, with Joshua revealing: “We do still have a strong connection with them, we keep in contact and we love them dearly.”
He even confessed that their parents are fully supportive of them, adding that if they were to progress further in the show they would invite them down to the studios.
Speaking about their 'inspiration' of a nan, Kyle said: “She’s the rock in our lives, and a big inspiration to us.
“Nan has always been a mum to us. It’s not as if I would call up my mum and say: ‘Mum, I need advice.’ It would be nan.”
Aww how cute!
