Netflix’s first talk show is here – on three days a week (Wed, Thu and Fri) and fronted by the amusing Chelsea Handler. The no-holds barred comic says: “After two to three long hours, we came up with the name Chelsea – because that’s my name.” Ho ho.

Saturday 14th May

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 - 8pm on BBC1

The Eurovision Song Contest isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and this year’s shindig will be a bit sad following the demise of King of Eurovision commentary; Sir Terry Wogan. Onwards, though, and Graham Norton is in the hot seat again, drinking wine and making his – ahem – observations while the camptastic acts do their thing on the stage. It’s live from Stockholm and taking us through the whole two hours of madness and hopefully a good beat or two are Måns Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede (ie Swedish celebrity-types).

Britain’s Got Talent - 8pm on ITV1

Next weekend the live shows start – so make the most of the crazies before it all gets super serious…(though still fun, we hope).

The King’s Speech - 9pm on Film4

C-C-C-Colin Firth brilliant plays the stuttering King George VI in this flick about the royal one’s reluctant path to the throne. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) has no choice but to take up position as King. Unfortunately, he is plagued by a dreadful stutter and so must engage the help of a speech therapist named Lionel – with whom he strikes up an unlikely friendship.

Queen Liz must be worn out with all this partying for her 90s bash by now, but it’s the gift that keeps on giving and this star-studded partay is fronted by TV royalty themselves; Ant and Dec. The Queen herself will be in the house as celebrations kick off live from Windsor Castle, with the guest list reading like a who’s who? Dame Shirley Bassey, Gary Barlow, Kylie, Jennifer Saunders, Damian Lewis, Martin Clunes, Imelda Stanton, Alan Titchmarsh… Phew! The pressure’s on to find that perfect gift amidst all the fun and celebrations. Not to mention lots of horses…

Louis Theroux: A Different Brain - 9pm on BBC2

what to watch this weekend

Lovely Louis this time brings us some heart-wrenching stories from families ripped apart by brain injury. “I’ve got a son but he’s got a different soul inside him,” cries one mum whose son suffered a head injury in a road accident. Elsewhere, since being hit by a van aged 14, Dan can be over-familiar and gets into trouble over practical jokes like pretending to stab himself.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians - 9pm on E!

At last, a reason for KK’s endless coat-wearing obsession. It’s because she thinks she’s fat (“You’re really not that big,” reassures Khloe - aww). Kanye’s got a fashion show on in New York – and the whole Klan must flock to support him.

Let’s Do It: A Tribute To Victoria Wood - 7.30pm on ITV

Pals and famous fans including Lenny Henry, Peter Kay and Alison Steadman look back at the great work of the comedy star, while the likes of Celia Imrie and Michael Ball chat about what it was like to work with the star once voted as the person the British public would most like to live next door to.
