Little Ward Miller was born three months early, weighing less than 1.5 pounds.
Father Benjamin decided to document the little fellow’s first year, from his mother Lyndsay’s tears of despair as their son lay helpless filled with tubes, to their happiness when a healthy 1-year-old enjoys (a little too much) of his first ever birthday cake.

Commenting on the clip, Ben said: ‘This video sums up my son’s first year. He was born way too early, and the obstacles he had to overcome were really big, but not bigger than our God.
‘This is a story of a mother’s love for her baby. I made this video to commemorate his first year and how far he has come. Today happens to be his mother’s birthday… so I made this as a gift to her.’
From holding Benjamin for the first time at 4 days old, to bringing him home after spending 107 days in the neonatal intensive care unit, to celebrating his first birthday, this video will make you cry tears of joy.
