Leon Trotsky was left with a shattered hip and broken legs when his mother clumsily fell on him shortly after his birth.
In this heart-warming footage, we see Leon getting used to his new wheels, encouraged by vet Pam Ahern, at farm sanctuary Edgar’s Mission.
Not only was poor Leon injured days after his birth, but he was also ‘destined for the plate’. But thankfully he escaped and is now focusing on getting used to his new way of getting around.
As we watch him happily trotting around the farm, Leon is joined by a couple of friends: a sheep and a chicken, just to make the video even cuter.
Leon will require more surgery as he grows and that’s where Pam comes in. While she is relying on donations as Leon’s bill is expected to be extremely expensive, Pam is hopeful.
She said: “If we can put a man on the moon surely we can save a pig with a broken leg.”
We're so happy Leon was saved!
