Retired footballer Jamie, 42, and 40-year-old Louise, who married in June 1998, are said to be in 'final stages' of signing up for the BBC One dancing competition.
A source told the Daily Star: "Having both Jamie and Louise on at the same time would be a great coup for the show.
"They are both extremely popular. Having another married couple fighting it out would be great viewing too."
In 2007 Gabby Logan and her husband Kenny battled it out on the dance floor.
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie recently filmed an episode of A League Of Their Own and apparently suggested that he and singer Louise will be signing up.
Comedian Jack Whitehall is said to have revealed the news, and a source said: "Claudia [Winkleman] looked genuinely annoyed that Jack had told everyone.
"It was obviously a backstage secret that wasn't supposed to have been made public knowledge. Jamie quickly denied it, saying 'No, no, it's not true', but he went bright red."
If Jamie and Louise, who share sons Charley and Beau, do take up the offer, they could also be competing against Jamelia, Michelle Heaton and Peter Andre – who are all rumoured to have signed up for the show.
