The brand new series of BBC1’s Our Girl made a huge impact when it hit screens this week. Not only were viewers excited to see Michelle Keegan at the helm - taking over the lead role from EastEnders Lacey Turner – there was also an exciting new cast, storyline and war zone.

Without giving too much away, army medic Georgie Lane embarked on a dangerous humanitarian mission to Kenya, near the Somalian border, and the episode had us gripped as soon as the opening credits started to roll.

It’s definitely worth a watch.

However, in amongst the gripping drama, some viewers, especially ones who work in the army, were quick to point out pretty major military mistakes.

Viewers claimed that the writers and producers had make mistakes concerning weaponry, costumes and even technology.

One wrote that an army medic would never be without a weapon on her person: "@michkeegan would never ever ever be without a weapon, did Iraq, Afghanistan & Africa my weapon never left my side, only critique sorry."

People also voiced that the way the cast all spoke to each other was way too forced: “Stuck in hotel watching "our girl". Way to much "boss" speak... Never like that when I was doing military stuff and taking to upper echelons.”

Another pleaded with the show to sharpen up their knowledge, saying: “#OurGirl - what a load of shite! The military advisor needs sacked! (I'll then take over!) #cringe”
