The Spice Girl has taken a swipe at the ITV talent competition, insisting it's inferior to BBC One's The Voice.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Mel, 41, said: "X Factor's over. It's had it's day."
Perhaps Mel is feeling bitter towards Simon Cowell's show after her friend and band mate Mel B, 40, was axed from the panel this year.
It was confirmed last month that Rita Ora, 24, is replacing Scary Spice and 30-year-old Nick Grimshaw is taking over from Louis Walsh.
Returning as judges are Simon and 32-year-old Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
Now Rita has switched shows, speculation has begun over who will take her seat as a judge on The Voice.
Sporty Spice Mel has put herself forward, admitting she'd love to work with Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and Will.i.Am.
She said: "I'd love to do The Voice because one, I love Ricky and two, Tom is a wonderful artist. I've never met Will.i.am but hey, he's been fun on the telly."
