It seems as if Patrick Blake isn’t quite ready to leave Hollyoaks just yet…

Fans of the show were left stunned when Patrick (Jeremy Sheffield) was murdered last week.

Originally he had asked his wife Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) to help him to commit suicide, as he was terminally ill with motor neurone disease (MND).

And, sneakily, he had left plenty of evidence to then frame her for his murder, in a bid to frame her for his murder after believing she was going to run away with former flame Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson).

But, when Patrick learned that Maxine really did love him, he changed his mind, choosing instead to spend as much time with her and their baby daughter as possible.

Unfortunately for Patrick, however, his granddaughter Nico Blake had other plans - and, in a bid to become soap land’s youngest serial killer, smothered him to death with a pillow.

Luckily for Nico, Maxine - believing Patrick had gone through with his plan to frame her for his murder - decided to act quickly upon finding his body.

Begging Darren Osbourne for help, the pair hid Patrick’s body in a damaged wall (which was later filled in with bricks), and left his wheelchair at a cliffside.

But, in a gripping new Hollyoaks storyline, Maxine is left horrified when Patrick’s daughter Sienna (Anna Passey) suggests holding a memorial for him in the Jubilee Gardens.

Yup, you spotted the issue; in a cruel twist of fate, Sienna wants to pay homage to her late dad in the exact same spot Maxine hid his body.

And, when a plaque is placed upon the EXACT SAME wall Patrick’s body is stowed inside, things get a little too much for Maxine.

Later that night, Maxine is confused when she suddenly hears Patrick's voice over the baby monitor at home.

It won’t be the last time we hear from him, either.

Is Maxine losing her grip on sanity? Is she being targeted by someone in a cruel series of pranks?

Or is Patrick, somehow, still alive?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
