The 34-year-old crumbled under the pressure of the ITV reality show and walked out before even making it to the main camp.
Despite this, producers of the show are allegedly desperate to stop her signing up for rival show Celebrity Big Brother.
“Although Gemma’s last stint in the jungle was a disaster, she made great TV,” a source told The Sun.
“Bosses are fascinated to see if she can overcome her fears and stay for the duration.”
It’s thought that, providing Gemma can go the distance this time, bosses have big plans for self-confessed Oprah Winfrey of Essex at the channel.
The source continued: “Talks are at an advanced stage but Gemma is up for it and is desperate to prove she can stick it out.
“If she comes through the Bushtucker Trials and wins over the public, Gemma could end up having a bright future at ITV.”
Following her early exit from the jungle in November, TOWIE star Gemma reportedly contemplated quitting TV for good.
She is said to have told friends at the time: “I’ve been on a roller coaster ride for the last three years and it might be time to get off. I have to completely re-evaluate my life.”
Gemma’s made no secret of the fact she’d love her own chat show, so perhaps a successful stint in the jungle could make her telly dreams come true.
