EastEnders is, without a doubt, going to be ultra-dramatic when it comes to next week's episodes.

After all, we've been promised that Lucy Beale's killer will finally be unmasked - and that Nick Cotton will meet his untimely demise, just in time for the soap's 30th anniversary celebrations.

But, as it turns out, there are even more shocks in store - and they come in the form of returning characters Phil Mitchell and Dean Wicks.

Oh yes.

We recently saw Sharon (Letitia Dean) discover that Phil (Steve McFadden) had gone missing after being released from prison.

And, elsewhere, Mick (Danny Dyer) has ominously told Linda (Kellie Bright) that he has got rid of rapist Dean (Matt Di Angelo) for good.

But, while many speculated that Dean had met his maker, and that Phil was off to live with brother Grant overseas, it turns out that they've both simply been biding their time.

Both characters are set to be part of the show's anniversary celebrations next week - and their returns are bound to cause plenty of drama.

Especially as Phil has something urgent to discuss with Adam Woodyatt's Ian Beale - does he know something about Lucy's murder?

Meanwhile, Dean's return will horrify Mick and Linda, who finally appear to be getting their relationship back on track following recent events.

To make matters worse, Dean has arrived back in Walford with a shocking revenge plan for the Carter family - but what is he going to do?

One thing's for sure, we're definitely going to be in need of a lie down after all that nail biting tension - roll on the #EELive episodes!

EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday, February 18 at 8pm on BBC One.
