Robbie was a popular EastEnders character for ELEVEN WHOLE YEARS until he and his girlfriend, Nita Mistry, decided to go and live in Mumbai back in 2003.

And it’s been rumoured for a long time that Dean Gaffney was gearing up for a return to the BBC One soap.

Now, finally, the news has been confirmed; Robbie's coming back!

Speaking about his big comeback, Dean said: “I am honoured that Dominic and all at EastEnders have decided to open the door and find out where Robbie's been and what he's been up to.”

Robbie Jackson was last spotted in Walford in February 2010, when he popped back to walk his sister Bianca (Patsy Palmer) down the aisle.

But he soon returned to his family in India after revealing his wife, Nita, was six months pregnant.

The details about his return are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Robbie (minus Wellard, sadly) will playing a part in Lindsey Coulson’s exit storyline.

That, to us, suggests Carol's reasons for leaving Walford are going to revolve around a wedding, a one-way ticket to Mumbai, or (gulp) a funeral.

Hmm.

Anyone else hoping that David Wicks (Michael French) is going to come back and whisk her away into the sunset?
