Rachel Stevens shot to fame as 1/7 of 90s pop group S Club 7, but she’s also dabbled in television.
In fact, much like EastEnders star Kellie Bright (aka Linda Carter), Rachel was a toe-tapping success on Strictly Come Dancing - in fact, she’s probably the most successful contestant in Strictly history.
She was also a judge on The Voice of Ireland - and she voiced Patrica Ravelston in the animated short Glendogie Bogey, so she’s got her acting abilities down pat.
Does this mean she has what it takes to star in BBC One’s EastEnders?
Well, she certainly hopes so!
Speaking to The Sun, she said: "There’s been talks about EastEnders in the past, which would be really fun to do a cameo role in, or something that would be unexpected or different.”
The former S Club star added that she had been approached by the soap on numerous occasions, but had always had to turn them down due to tour commitments.
However she admitted that it would be ‘amazing’ to step into Walford alongside the Mitchell and Branning clans - and that she is VERY keen to accept any offers that may come her way in the future.
The mum-of-two said: "It would be an amazing experience. I want something that will challenge me in a different way.
"EastEnders is my local. It's around the corner for me so it would be perfect."
However we would advise you not to get too excited JUST yet, as an Eastenders spokesperson has said that there are "no current plans" to cast Rachel.
Boo, hiss.
If they DID hire Rachel, it wouldn’t be the first time a pop star has transformed into a soapstar.
After all, X Factor’s Shayne Ward is currently in ITV’s Coronation Street - alongside former Hear’Say songstress, Kym Marsh.
And Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp was in BBC One’s EastEnders for YEARS as Steve Owen.
However they aren’t always success stories; remember when poor old Sarah Harding gave Corrie a try?
We won't stop, or ever give up, on the hope of Rachel landing a role in EastEnders - how about you?
