As EastEnders fans are well aware, Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) died under mysterious circumstances earlier this year, and there have already been several twists and turns in the ongoing storyline.

But, while Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) has been identified in CCTV footage connected to Lucy's death, it seems as if the killer could be someone far closer to home.
Ben Hardy, who plays Lucy's twin brother Peter, told Inside Soap: "I found out some more information that is leading me to believe that it wasn't Peter.
"I am starting to think the killer could be Jane."

It is an interesting theory - one which we ourselves touched upon back in April, shortly after Lucy's death.
And it does seem to make a lot of sense.
Firstly, Jane Beale was NOT one of the family to leave a message on Lucy's phone that fateful night, despite usually being the mediator of the situation.
Does that mean she'd already tried to calm Lucy down - and failed? Badly?
Secondly, when Jane found the police woman's calling card on the table, she seemed to know that something terrible had happened straight away. Unlike Denise, who clung to optimism, Lucy's stepmother stood by the window and waited for Ian's return…
There's also the fact that she's left Albert Square, with little Bobby, and returned back to wherever it is she lives when she's not in Walford. Presumably Waterloo Road.

Meanwhile Mimi Keene, who plays Lucy's half-sister Cindy, also teased upcoming scenes, revealing: "In the scenes that I am filming at the moment, there is a lot more being discovered with regards to Lucy's murder."
EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
