Last night, Eastender’s aired devastating scenes that showed seven-months pregnant Shabnam Masood discover her baby with fiancé Kush had no heartbeat and had tragically died. Doctors then told her she would have to give birth.

Viewers flooded Twitter with praise for the cast, especially Rakhee Thakrar – who plays Shabnam.

Actress Rakhee spoke to Closer last month about the harrowing storyline, saying: “When I found out this would be happening I felt incredibly sad, then the feelings of responsibility of needing to play that role truthfully crept in. I took it really seriously – I wanted to do it justice.”
