Katie Redford was originally cast as Bethany, but she was dropped from the show days later after it was revealed she had lied about her age to get the role.

She had told soap bosses she was 19-years-old, but in reality she was 25 - making her 11 years older than 14-year-old Bethany.

And, more awkwardly, just two years younger than Tina O'Brien, who would be playing her on-screen mother, Sarah-Louise.

Watch Katie Redford in the video below:

Lucy Fallon - who actually is 19 (we hope!) - stepped into Weatherfield when she began filming at the ITV soap this week.

She has already starred alongside her on-screen grandmother Helen Worth (Gail) and on-screen uncle Jack P Shapherd (David).

Speaking of her casting, Lucy said: "Walking onto the set was surreal and nerve wracking, but everyone has been really welcoming and I am thrilled to have been given this great opportunity."

Her first scenes will be aired in March.

Welcome to Coronation Street, Lucy!
