Closer’s CBB columnist Nicola McLean: ‘Chloe’s downfall was trying too hard – it came across a little desperate’

"The biggest fear of any celebrity going on a reality show is to be voted off first, so Chloe Goodman understandably wasn't happy when Emma Willis called her name to leave the Big Brother house.

All in all I think Chloe was a good housemate but, as a viewer and fan of the show, I think she tried too hard to put on an entertaining act and that was her downfall.

She would have stayed in much longer had she not felt it necessary to be 'honest' – it's fine to say how you feel and it's fine to have opinions but if it's not natural it comes across wrong, and that's where I feel Chloe went wrong.

Chloe should never have been so rude to Patsy Kensit over her choice of who should stay in the house, she just came across a little desperate. She exited to an unwelcoming crowd and that's never nice, trust me I know!

Were you shocked to see Chloe leave?

But she spoke well in her interview and came across great – she must have been fuming being made to leave in that attire as I'm sure she probably had a sexy little dress planned for her departure.

Earlier in the show we saw Perez winding Chloe up by dancing stupidly around the garden and if I'm honest that's what sealed Chloe's fate. From a girl who talks a lot about 'banter' I expected more from her and I'm surprised that she nibbled at Perez's obvious attempts to wind the housemates up. But boy did she bite!

This is another example, in my opinion, of what Chloe thought would make her popular with the public: being outspoken. But it would have been so much better for her to ignore him and have a great nights sleep.

Instead she ended up having a huge argument with Nadia, which Cami Li got involved in, they ended up offending Alicia and for once I make Nadia right. I was super impressed with Alicia, who stood her ground when the two girls said that Perez was only nice to her for his own gain.

Nicola was glad to see Alicia standing up for herself

But, on the subject of Alicia, I have to say I was so p*ssed off with her when Kavana did a nice thing by having a quiet word about with her about Perez, and just saying to be wary of him and his intentions. She straight away ran and told Perez exactly what Kavana had said. No need Alicia, no need…

When it came down to it, and I think most viewers would agree, I wasn't even bothered about who was leaving: I was only interested in who was entering, especially when it was announced as Katie Price. Chloe who? The Pricey had arrived!

The rumour about Katie Price going in the house had been circulating for weeks and it was true – the Queen of reality was finally descending upon the house. Will she sort them all out? I think so.

Nicola thinks Katie will sort the house out - do you agree?

I was shocked to see a very nervous Katie shaking while being interviewed by Emma. She entered to meet her housemates almost panicking, and telling them all she just wanted to have fun. Before she went in, Emma told Katie she had been given special powers to banish three of her new housemates to the gilded cage for the rest of the evening.

A nervous Katie told her new housemates, 'I just wanna say to everyone, I have been watching the show, I know exactly how you're all doing and how you're being perceived,' before adding, 'I don't want you to think that I'm going to that person because of how they're being perceived out there.'

Some of the old Pricey shone through when the first person to be banished was Perez. 'Take it as a compliment,' she stressed. 'I think the house needs a f***ing break.' Haha go on Kate! She then picked Cami and Nadia and that was that.

The Pricey's entrance was fabulous – I'm a huge Katie fan and can't wait to see what her presence will do to turn around the most angry CBB house ever! X"
