Disney have been busy updating their classic films for some time now, bringing us live-action versions of Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Maleficent, Beauty & The Beast, The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland, Dumbo, and plenty more besides.
So it makes sense that they've planned to transform another of our childhood favourites into a live-action piece.
Although we have a feeling that they might need a little help from a certain wizard (that was a hint, by the way!) to pull this one of…
Yup, it’s The Sword In The Stone!
And Disney have only gone and nabbed Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman to pen the script.
Anyone else worried that we might be getting a slightly more bloodthirsty story than we remember?
Hmm.
Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney veteran Brigham Taylor will be producing the remake - which (hopefully) means it’ll be packed full of that old-fashioned Disney magic, as opposed to blood and guts and incest.
No word yet on who will be playing Art (aka the young King Arthur), Merlin, or Archimedes, but we can’t wait to find out.
Anyone else think Helena Bonham Carter would be perfect for the part of Mad Madam Mim?
Which upcoming live-action Disney remake are you most looking forward to?
