British Soap Awards 2015: EastEnders scoops a whopping EIGHT wins

Following on from arguably their most successful year ever, EastEnders scooped a whopping EIGHT awards at the Britsh soap awards on Saturday night.

After the hugely successful ‘who killed Lucy Beale’ storyline, that had the nation hooked on every plot twist and turn, the powers that be deemed it only fair to award ‘Enders Best British Soap.

And this wasn’t the only award the london based soap scooped on Saturday night, with Adam Woodyatt and Kellie Bright receiving Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.

The death of Lucy Beale was named Best Storyline (because, really, how could they not?), with Woodyatt collecting the award on behalf of the soap.

Speaking on the ambitious live week, which celebrated the show’s 30th anniversary, he said: ‘Live week was ridiculous. It was a massive crew effort and there were 300 plus cast and crew involved.’

Adam also got Best On-Screen Partnership alongside Laurie Brett, who plays his wife Jane, while one of the soap writers Rob Gittins was given the Outstanding Achievement award.
