Love Island bosses love a bit of a crossover, like when they sent Love Island Australia pair Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters (remember him?) into the winter Love Island 2023 villa as bombshells or when they made TOWIE legend Joey Essex the first ever celebrity contestant, but we certainly didn’t see this latest twist coming.

In news we definitely didn’t expect to be writing today, a Hollyoaks star has swapped soapland for reality TV as is heading into the villa as a Love Island bombshell.

We’ll just give you a second to process that…

If you’ve been a fan of the Channel 4 soap for a while then you’ll probably remember Charlie Georgiou, who rose to fame when he appeared on the show in 2019. Charlie played Jed, a police informant in a far right extremist group that was set up on a date with Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

Six years after his soap stint, Charlie is back on our screens once again as a late Love Island entrant.

Don’t expect to see him in the Love Island 2025 villa though, he’s actually jetted off to Fiji to be a bombshell on seventh series of Love Island USA.

American viewers first got a glimpse of Charlie as he slo-mo strutted into the villa during the second episode. He said, ‘I'm tall, tanned, girls usually say I've got nice lips, and they like kissing them.

‘You might thing that Love Island started already, but now that I'm here, it's only just begun.’

As well as his appearances on Hollyoaks and Love Island USA, Charlie also took part in the first series of Channel 4’s Tempting Fortune in 2023.

And when he’s not popping up on the telly box, the 27 year old is a singer and model. He also worked in his family’s Solihull fish and chip shop when acting work dried up in the pandemic.
