Kimberley Walsh may be back in her size 10 jeans following the birth of her one-year-old son Bobby last year but she admits she took her time to slim down and refused to put pressure on herself.

Last month Abbey Clancy showed off her flat stomach just weeks after giving birth to her second daughter Liberty, but Kimberley, 33 isn’t going to worry about how quickly other celebrities lose their baby weight.

She says: “It’s taken me a while to lose the weight, Abbey Clancy is not human, you can’t compare yourself to her. When I went back to work on This Morning just four months after having Bobby, I knew I wasn’t back to myself but I hoped people would appreciate I was a new mum and I really hope it helped other people feel better about themselves.”

One celebrity who Kimberley does want to thank for promoting a new type of body shape is Kim Kardashian, she says: “Kim Kardashian did a lot of favours for people with curves – she’s made them fashionable again. It wasn’t like that for me growing up because Kate Moss and Gisele had the ideal body shape. But now we’ve Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Kim – so maybe I’ve had the last laugh.”

Kimberley says her son Bobby has brought her and finace Justin closer

A factor that’s helped Kimberley learn to love herself is her support fiancé, Justin Scott. Since having Bobby together the singer says they’re closer than ever.

She says: “Bobby has brought us together, I’m quite independent and I want to do everything on my own but for the first time I really needed Justin. Especially in the early stages we were in it together. If I’d had to do it all on my own I would have been scared.”

Despite being a busy working mum, Kimberley insists she still makes some time to pamper herself, although not as much as she’d like to.

She adds: “I don’t have time for beauty routines any more but I’m trying to bring it back slowly, my feet need to have some attention I’ll have a massage every so often, carrying a heavy baby around does take it’s toll – I don’t feel guilty that I’m not with bobby for that hour because I feel like I’ve earned that as a mum.”
