The Real Housewives of Cheshire's Rachel Lugo reveals where she does her big shop, and it's not as glamorous as you'd think...
How much do you spend a week?
I shop at Aldi and Tesco. I spend around £250 per week as I have five children [Rachel has Francesca, 23, William, 21, Sophia, 18, Oliver, 15, and Sienna, nine, with ex-husband John Lugo] living with me, three dogs and a cat.
Describe your daily diet...
I tend to skip breakfast as I find fasting helps with my gastric issues. Lunch is an omelette made with spring onions, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Dinner is something like a stir-fry with vegetables and either chicken or seafood or cajun chicken wraps with lettuce, or a chilli.
What do you snack on?
Mostly fruit like raspberries, clementines, apples, strawberries or pineapple.
Anything you refuse to eat?
I’m not a fussy eater, but I hate capers, pink peppercorns and sardines.
What would you cook to impress someone?
I’d do a smoked salmon starter, sea bass with roasted vegetables for main and a lemon meringue to finish.
Favourite tipple?
It’s got to be a gin and tonic.
Verdict
Nutritionist Juliette Kellow says, "Rachel’s fridge is packed with nutritious ingredients, making it easy for her to cook healthy meals. Missing breakfast makes it harder to get all the nutrients she needs, so choosing meals and snacks packed with protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals is even more important. Great snacks include nuts, plain yoghurt with fruit, houmous and vegetable sticks or oatcakes.”
