Harry gave the leopard print Burberry top, which originally cost £180, to website www.hardleyeverwarnit.com where bidding saw it being sold for $4,833 (£3,002).
The money was donated to charity Unicef and the t-shirt was sold to an unnamed Texas businessman.
That isn’t the only charity work Harry has been involved lately. He, along with his four One Direction band mates, will take part in a telethon to raise money for people effected by the recent devastation in the Philippines.
One Direction, along with other stars, will be answering the phone calls of people wishing to donate.
There have been rumours recently that Harry wants to re-unite with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, after he admitted on the Jonathon Ross show they were ‘still friends’.
A source close to the star said: “Harry has been sending Taylor sexy texts for months. Most of the time she just ignores him but she’s lonely and she still has feelings for him.
“You can’t really blame her for getting sucked back in. He’s very persistent and charming. She’s talking to him again so it does seem like she’s falling back under his spell.”
Harry and Taylor dated briefly last year before breaking up in January. Taylor penned her hit I Knew You Were Trouble about the singer.
