When this year’s Benefits Street stars hit our screens, they had some idea of what to expect following last year’s phenomenal success.
Break out star White Dee has done particularly well since starring in the Channel 4 documentary series, even winning a place in Celebrity Big Brother.
Now she has blasted the latest series, calling it a ‘copy cat’ of last years programmes.
She told The Sun: “I think they’re trying to recreate all the same characters they had in the first show. I see a drunk, drug addict walking down the street and think, ‘That looks familiar!’
“If it’s a copycat it’s the worst copycat I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t have any heart like our show did.”
I particular, Benefits Street's Dot has attracted similar attention to White Dee.
Dot responded: “I’m my own person. I have been inspired by Dee as I liked her on the show. But I’m different.
“There will never be another White Dee.”
She added: “I don’t act my own age and I like being bubbly and friendly. I’m not argumentative. I’m not a copycat, why should I copy anyone?”
