The 41-year-old fashion designer, who was born in Harlow, reported joked that the county 'isn't a very nice place' earlier this week, sparking outrage from a couple of the TOWIE stars.
But former Spice Girl Victoria has brushed off the criticism. She posted a picture to Instagram with the message: 'Essex girl and proud of it!'
She captioned the post: "Happy Sunday in the sun fashion bunnies x vb [sic]."
Although VB has denied that she's embarrassed of her home county, Jasmin Walia has responded.
She told the Sunday People: "It's a great place. It's a bit sad that she's trying to forget her roots. When I read what she had said I was shocked.
"I want to invite Victoria back to Essex. I'd take her to the Sugar Hut and one of the boutiques in Buckhurst Hill. She can style me while she's at it."
Former TOWIE star Joey Essex has also hit back at Victoria, insisting she's 'one of them'.
"I haven't got a clue what Posh Spice is going on about when she says our home town is not very nice," he told The Sun. "After all, she was the one who invented the Essex pout."
