Usher wins custody battle over ex-wife Tameka following son’s pool accident

The mother of five-year-old Usher Raymond V hoped to regain temporary custody of the child following an accident at the singer’s home.

The little boy was hospitalized last week and slipped into a coma after getting his arm stuck in an underwater pool drain.

Tameka Foster lost primary custody of both her sons last year but following the incident, she claimed that her children were not properly cared for and that Raymond V was unsupervised during the incident.

“I don’t know where my kids are, who they’re with, who’s taking care of them”, she explained as she took a stand at the hearing.

Usher claimed that he sent an email to Foster every Sunday to let her know what the children would be doing the following week.

Defending the star, Usher’s lawyer said that the children were “thriving” and that the pool accident “could have happened to anyone”.

Usher embraced Tameka after the hearing in what must have been an emotional week for both parties.

Tameka praised the men that rescued her son in a heartwarming picture on Instagram

On Thursday, Tameka posted a heartfelt picture showing her cradling her eldest son as he recovered in intensive care.

She added the caption:

“I have always loved and appreciated my sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident.”

"URV had an angel named Kile Ishmael and our Lord and true savior to look after him.”

“Words cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am.”

"Thank you Jehovah God, Jesus and Kile also The AV worker that saved my son is my Hero!!! Period."

Usher has also expressed his thanks for the two men that saved his son’s life. He said in a statement:

"I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering.”

"I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being.”

"I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock.”

"I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews.”

"They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."

The incident follows the tragic death of Usher’s stepson following a jet ski accident last year.
