She may have been voted one of Britain’s sexiest Asian stars, but things haven’t been plain sailing for TOWIE’s Jasmin Walia.

The 25-year-old revealed to the Daily Star that she has been subject to nasty Twitter abuse.

Followers have even gone as far as to make racist comments on the social media site.

She revealed: "There were people who said stuff that was really nasty.

"They were posting comments like 'if you're Asian you shouldn't try to be Essex'. It was ridiculous."

The reality star added:"You'd think everyone would have moved on."

Jasmin left the popular ITVbe series earlier this year, but has recently starred in new reality show Desi Rascals.

The series followers young British Asians as they navigate every day dramas and the quest to find love.

"I'm really excited to be joining Desi Rascals,” Jasmin said

"Since leaving the cast of TOWIE, I have been very fortunate to receive numerous offers of work, and this is the opportunity I've been looking for that will allow me to explore my cultural roots whilst still maintaining all the glitz and glamour that I love."
