Tamzin Outhwaite is a talented actress, with a successful TV and film career under her belt.
But the 44-year-old has revealed that she will be giving up work for a while, so that she can be a full-time mum to her two daughters.
Speaking with The Mirror, the New Tricks star said: “I’ll have as much time off as it takes to hang out with the girls because it feels like they need me at the moment.
“It got to the stage where I was worried about the hours I was doing.
“What with filming and my theatre commitments, I was literally working from 6am until 7pm or 8pm – and barely seeing my kids.”
Tamzin explained that Florence, seven, and Marnie, three, love having their mum around - especially in the wake of her painful split from her husband of seven years, Tom Ellis.
The couple, who have been married since 2008, finalised their divorce earlier this year, with Tamzin citing Tom’s infidelity as her reasons for ending the marriage.
However, despite her heartbreak, Tamzin appears stronger than ever - and it seems as if spending more time with her girls could be the cause of that.
She said firmly: “They love having me around and I’m loving spending time with them, seeing their relationship with each other, and I just want to see a bit more of it.”
And, revealing that she cares more about her girls than her showbiz career, the doting mum added: “I used to worry that people would forget me or I won’t work again after.
“But now I realise it doesn’t even matter; it’s much more important to be with my children.
“My kids are much more important than my career.”
