But although they’re well aware that their mum is famous, the 34-year-old has revealed she doesn’t let Teja, 14, and nine-year-old Tiani search her online.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Loose Women host Jamelia said: “We have a rule in my house – do not Google mummy. In my opinion my daughters are my biggest success.”
One reason Jamelia is keen to shield her two girls from online comments about her is the backlash she received after making comments about plus-size clothing earlier this year.
During an episode of Loose Women, the singer claimed high street stores should not cater to overweight people.
Addressing the criticism, Jamelia continued: “I’ve never had to deal with that kind of negativity before. I felt awful knowing that something I said upset people so much.”
She later attempted to defend her comments, insisting she was ‘talking about extremes’ and that she only meant ‘above size 20’ should be banned from the high street.
But the harsh response has meant the Superstar hit maker doesn’t use social media much any more.
“I used to use Twitter a lot,” Jamelia added. “But now I only post pictures on there, which is a shame because it’s a great platform to engage with fans.”
