The Girls Aloud star is joining the cast for ITV’s Text Santa charity, where the public will decide which Corrie character she will spend Christmas with.
The 30-year-old‘s character arrives in Weatherfield and heads for the Rovers Return Inn, looking for her childhood friend, barmaid Tina.
Cheryl expects to be travelling home to Newcastle with Tina for her mum's Christmas party, but there is of course a twist to the story.
They are naming the special episode ‘Fairytale of Weatherfield’, with other special guest appearances from Shane McGowan from The Pogues.
Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Christine Bleakley, Paddy McGuinness are the presenter line-up for Text Santa, which is broadcasting on Friday December 20.
ITV's Text Santa raises money and awareness for six UK based charities offering life-changing services to people in communities.
This year's chosen charities are Age UK, Barnardo's, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.
