Understand what healthy eating really means

"I think people get confused and think healthy only means a bit of lettuce with nothing on it - and that's not healthy. You have to sex up a salad!" says Mel.

The 33-year-old's diet includes dishes like mashed steamed salmon with potato, spinach, vegetables and gravy; chicken, mashed potato and vegetables with gravy and snacks like fruit and nuts.

But minxy Mel says it's not only her fitness plan that keeps her trim - it's also her healthy sex life that helps her to bust any wobbly bits:

"You burn so many calories doing that!", laughs Mel. "And it's like an all-over body workout!"

Drink up

It's one of the oldest tips for all-over health and fitness results, but keeping your body hydrated is vital for anyone who wants to drop a few pounds - and Mel knows that:

"Make sure you drink a load of water. I never used to and it's so important to flush the toxins out of your body. I've noticed a huge change since I started drinking more water."

The super-trim singer is also said to enjoy protein shakes with her breakfast. They kick-start your metabolism and are help to repair muscle tissue after workouts.
