Serena Williams has welcomed her first child with her fiancé and Reddit-founder Alexis Ohanian!
The tennis-pro gave birth to a 6lb 13oz baby girl on Friday September 1 in a hospital in Florida, it has been reported.
The news comes after Serena is thought to have checked into hospital on Wednesday, with an entire hospital floor being cleared to respect her privacy.
Serena was then induced on Thursday evening, before the new arrival was born the following morning.
The happy couple announced the surprise news in April, but admitted they had chosen to keep the sex of the baby a surprise.
It seems the sports star, who has been labelled the Queen of Wimbledon for her achievements, had her suspicions early on though, as she admitted, "Two weeks after we found out [I was pregnant], I played the Australian Open.
“I told Alexis it has to be a girl because there I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way.”
Stars have taken to social media to congratulate 35-year-old Serena, including A-lister Beyoncé.
The singer posted a picture of Serena’s recent Vogue shoot to Instagram, which read, “Congratulations Serena!”
As the news broke, ennis star Rafael Nadal also tweeted, “Congrats Serena!!! So much joy for you!!!”
But of course, nobody will be as overjoyed as Serena, who said giving birth would make her into a “real woman” earlier this year.
“I am about to be a real woman now, you know?' she said. “It's going to be something incredibly impressive to go through.”
You did it, Serena!
