During an interview with a UK newspaper, Sam also revealed that the baby was conceived on New Year’s Eve, and that she won’t be getting a nanny.
Sam, 36, said of losing her baby weight: “It’ll be something on my mind but I’m not going to be running around Hyde Park.
“I’ll do it in my own time when I’m ready. I want to concentrate on the baby.”
Despite the fact that her singing career has only just started, Sam isn’t intending to rush of and leave her new baby as soon as it’s born.
“I’m not getting a nanny, I’ll look after my own kids,” she said. “I need to be there for a certain period of time with the baby and stuff like that but it’s not like I’m flying off to Cambodia and staying away from home. It’s an hour and half to London.”
Even though Sam won the X Factor over three months ago, she still hasn’t met label boss Simon Cowell.
She revealed: “I haven’t met Simon yet, that’s going to be in the next few weeks so I’m very excited. I’m a bit nervous to be honest but it’s going to be good.”
Sam did say that she has spoken to Simon once on the phone before, but wasn’t fully convinced it was him at first.
She said: “It was weird when I spoke to him on the phone. He was nice to talk to and he was very refreshing, but I couldn’t help thinking it was Rory Bremner or John Culshaw when I spoke to him.”
