We love Pixie Lott's style - the 19-year-old singer's fashion sense is the perfect mix of retro and modern, and we can't get enough of her 60s-influenced style.

Pixie is the new face of Nokia's new Illuvial collection, so we popped down to the official launch at The Carphone Warehouse to catch up with Pixie for a chat about her look - and to pick you up a few fashion tips!

The lovely Ms Lott shared her favourite makeup, her secrets to getting ready on the go and her most embarrassing fashion disaster...

Did you take ages to get ready for the EMAs?

Well that’s the thing we were rushed for time – we came straight from LA and then I had to fly from London to Berlin, so I got ready on the plane! So I had to wash my hair in the sink on the plane, do my makeup on the plane, and then just quickly slip into my dress! Plus, I came straight from the plane today so I did my makeup on the plane again from Berlin!

What are your favourite products to get ready on the go?

I’ll tell you what I love, dry shampoo, you just spritz it in! I just always make sure I have a little selection of makeup in my bag as well, just in case – miniatures are great!

What’s your secret to getting pop star-perfect skin?

I like MAC makeup, I always use their foundation and their eyeliners, eyeshadows, everything!

Your style is very ‘rock chick’, who are your style icons?

My style icons are Brigitte Bardot and Edie Sedgwick.

Vintage! Are you into retro style?

Yeah definitely! I love shopping for vintage, this dress I’m wearing today is vintage, I found a really nice vintage shop in Covent Garden called Mint Vintage, and it’s just like a goldmine

And what about the high street?

I don’t have time to go shopping on the high street any more! I used to before, I used to go to Topshop, but now I’m so rushed that I just get stuff sent in from designers!

Who are your favourite designers?

Well, I wore D&G last night [at the EMAs], and I’ve been wearing Fendi a lot recently, I love Mulberry stuff, I love Moschino, especially their vintage stuff, and I love Chanel and Armani.

Ever had any fashion disasters?

Hmm… I had a meeting at my label the other day and I was just in such a rush, I had to get up really early and I just shoved on a black dress, because they’re so easy to wear. I didn’t realise there was a zip at the side that had to be done up, so I was standing in the lift and I was talking to someone I work with at the label and I was like ‘So, how have you been?’ and I could see this girl looking at me a little bit embarrassed. I was wondering why, and when I got out of the lift I saw I had this massive zip that I hadn’t done up. How embarrassing!

What’s been your best taste of the A-List lifestyle? Any cool freebies?

I got a goody bag from the EMAs actually that was filled with LOTS of goodies! But the fashion people have been really generous, like Fendi and Mulberry have always been really good to me – as you can imagine, I’m grateful!
