Professor Green arrested for drunk driving after being mugged

Rapper Professor Green was arrested early on Sunday morning for drink driving after having his Rolex watch stolen outside his London home.

He was returning from a night out when the mugging occurred prompting a phone call to police at around 2.40am.

When the police arrived at the musician’s home they discovered that his Mercedes benz had been involved in an accident with a van.

The authorities suspected that 29-year-old Prof Green- real name Steven Manderson- had been drink driving and arrested him.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: 'The suspected driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken into custody at a South London police station.’

He continued: 'there were no reports of any injured parties. Inquiries into the robbery and the collision are on going.' The rapper was released on bail and is expected to return to the police station next month.

Prof Green married Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh earlier this year. His wife was not at home when the arrest happened.

The star was returning home from the Radio 1 teen awards when the incident happened.

He was injured after being involved in a car accident earlier this year. He had said that the accident left his health and tour ‘in absolute jeopardy.’

The rapper is yet to comment on the arrest.
