Announcing his plans to cease duty as a search and rescue pilot for the RAF, and relocate from Anglesey to London's Kensington Palace, he thanked locals for their hospitality.
The 31-year-old revealed: ‘I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey. I know that both of us will miss it terribly.’
Speaking about his 3-week-old son, he proudly said:
‘George is doing really well, thank you. We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year.’
The youngster's first official Royal tour abroad to Australia will follow Royal tradition in introducing the future king to his family realm.
Princess Diana also took William to Australia and New Zealand on a 6-week tour in 1983.
William and Kate, also 31, have been renting a deserted farmhouse since his posting as a pilot in 2010, and will relocate to London for his new posting with the household cavalry next month.
Talking about baby George, William told his eager audience: ‘He’s pretty loud but of course very good looking!'
Before adding:
‘All we have got to do now is to get him to sleep through the night... please!’
