His journey was filmed for a BBC1 documentary about Brazil, to tie in with the World Cup being held there later this year.
Retired footballer David, 39, travelled with three friends and learned how to catch food, cook and camp in the jungle.
Last night Becks shared two pictures from his trip with his Facebook fans. The first was of him beaming at the camera with a little boy on his back, and the second was more like how we’re used to seeing him: smouldering while posing next to a motorcycle.
Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s controller, said of the trek: “In this special documentary for BBC1, David Beckham embarks on a top-secret expedition to the Amazon that will see him encounter the other side of Brazil and journey through the tropical rainforest, a TV first for the global icon.”
David will be leaving behind his millions, his lavish lifestyle and designer wardrobe and going back to basics which is sure to provide some very interesting viewing.
Helen Jackson, managing director for content at BBC worldwide, said: “This is an unforgettable documentary set in the heart of the dense Amazon rainforest following David Beckham.
“Through his eyes, audiences will experience life in the jungle, something so different from David’s life on and off the pitch and in the glare of the world’s media.”
The 90-minute documentary will air on June 9th and we don’t know about you but we can’t wait to see it.
