Peter Andre recently announced that he and wife Emily MacDonagh are expecting another baby together.
And now the dad-of-three (soon to be four!) has shared his thoughts on ‘smacking’.
The controversial parenting topic recently made headlines after a team of experts argued before the UN committee that physical punishment should be made illegal in the UK.
Currently in the UK, parents are allowed “reasonable chastisement” to control their child’s behaviour, however they can be prosecuted if their actions result in injuries like bruises, cuts and scratches.
However, dad-to-be Pete has argued against this case, saying that he was smacked as a child and it didn’t do him any harm.
Speaking in his new! column, Pete said: “As a child, I got smacked when I did something wrong and it never did my brothers or I any harm.
“Of course no parent should physically harm their child, but I don't see anything wrong with a smack on the hand or the bum to discipline them.”
Although revealing that he himself was disciplined as a child, Pete admitted that he’s personally “never ever” smacked one of his own children.
Explaining that he and Emily use the “naughty step” for daughter Amelia, 2, and used to send Princess to her room, the Mysterious Girl singer confessed that this way of disciplining his children really worked.
“We use the naughty step for Mills and it really works,” Peter admitted.
“When she does something wrong she will say, 'Millie sorry', then go on it and say what she’s sorry for.”
“When Bista [Princess] was about six, she went through a naughty stage. To discipline her, I’d send her to her room and take all the toys away.
“She knew I was very serious, so wouldn’t act up.”
The 43 year old has two children Junior, 10, and Princess, eight, with ex-wife Katie Price, and two year old Amelia with wife Emily.
