Attachment parenting is a method of raising children based on the theory that having a strong bond with your child gives him or her security.

The pair appeared on the show following a catty Twitter spat. The debate began with them discussing whether attachment parenting was a good or bad thing.

Peaches said: “It’s sad to me that this has a name because all it is is a return to instinct parenting.

“I follow the 7 Bs of attachment parenting- birth bonding, breastfeeding, babywearing, bedding close to baby, belief in the language value of your baby’s cry, beware of baby trainers and balance.”

Katie on the other hand has dismissed the method as being “new age” also adding that followers of the method are raising a nation of brats.

Referring to a photo from 2012 showing Peaches’ son falling out of his pram, Katie scathingly said: “She likes attachment until her baby is on the pavement.”

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield wasn’t happy with this, and replied: “We’ve all done that. My daughter fell out of her carry chair when I was looking after her once.”

Peaches was then asked about the fact that she and her husband Tom Cohen do not share a bed, with Peaches instead sleeping with her children.

“With my family it’s because I have two babies under 2. On is 17 months and one is 7 months. We have a bed that is 9ft wide because when you sleep with your baby you have to be safe.”

Katie, eager to make it clear she didn’t approve, quipped: “It’s all a bit ‘knit your own Birkenstocks for me. AP is just one step away from CR-AP parenting.

“I think it’s really important that mums are mums and that they are in control. AP parents think it’s important that you’re there straightaway if the baby cries.

“But I think it’s important to see that as a mother you put your baby down to sleep and if they want to cry, then they should go for it.”

When asked about baby wearing, in which mothers hold their baby close to their bodies in a sling, Katie replied: “I wear a handbag, I don’t wear a baby.”

Peaches concluded by saying that Katie was a ‘prime example of someone who wasn’t attachment parented when she was growing up’ and that she ‘goes on the media to slag off other women and her own children’.

After the interview Peaches headed onto Twitter, writing “Well... That was easy. Think I know who won that one. Hopkins was literally SHAKING when I shook her hand afterwards.”

She added “Think I just said to Katie Hopkins live on This Morning what the whole of Britain wants to say to her. YOU LOSE, sucka!!!!”

Katie has responded by retweeting compliments from viewers.
