The former Pussycat Doll and X-factor judge says she likes to eat healthily but still enjoys her guilty pleasures. "It's all about balance" says the popstar.
"I work out a lot. I jog a lot. I keep very active and you’ve just got to find the balance. I don’t believe in being too skinny or unhealthy. I believe in being healthy and having a healthy appetite like I love to eat all my meals. I love to have my desserts, my chocolate and cheese…."
"My new motto is: "Stay active, eat everything in moderation, and stop being so tough on myself."
On her diet:
"I'll often have soft-boiled eggs, smoked salmon and whole wheat toast for breakfast," she said. "Cold cuts, veggies and fruit for lunch; and usually chicken or fish with rice and more vegetables for dinner."
"My new motto is: "Stay active, eat everything in moderation, and stop being so tough on myself."
On body image:
"By the time I was in the Pussycat Dolls, I was on the scale all the time," she says. "It became my enemy because I noticed that when I exercised really hard, I'd gain weight. Now that I'm in my 30s, I’ve stepped off the scale – I just go by how my clothes fit."
On exercise:
"I do a 30- to 45- minute jog twice a week and a lot of circuit training in the gym. I alternate from a few minutes of cardio to sets of 12 on each exercise. I like one leg dead lift squats and bed-overs using 10 pound weights."
"I do crunches on an exercise ball really target my abs! and to tone my legs, I dance, run, do squats and lunges.”
