The 19 year-old boyband star is said to be suffering from a 'haemorrhaging vocal cord' - the same condition that threatened to wreck singer Adele's career – and will undergo an operation on Thursday.

A spokesperson revealed: "We can confirm that The Wanted's Nathan Sykes will under go specialist throat surgery on Thursday 18 April in Los Angeles and as such will be taking unforeseen hiatus from The Wanted.”
"The priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible.”
"The remaining four members of The Wanted will continue fulfilling the bands promotional commitments across the world."
The Wanted boys were meant to be working on a new album and are in the middle of filming a TV show for E! Entertainment in the US, as well as embarking on a world tour at the end of the year – but surgery on Nathan’s vocal cords will leave him unable to talk, let alone sing.
A source reportedly told a UK newspaper today: 'It came as a shock to the boys, and they want to get behind him as much as possible and help speed his recovery. They're staying positive for him.’
It’s not surprising the young boybander has tweeted that he has a lot on his mind, as he is due to celebrate his birthday tomorrow and recently ending his relationship with singer Dionne Bromfield.
