Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, 72 is set to become a father for the eighth time with Melanie, 29, who he has have been in a relationship with since 2014.
A source close to the couple told The Sun that they were 'suprised and happy' with the news.
They said: “This is great news. It will be Mick’s eighth child and nothing fazes him. He’s been incredibly supportive.
“She’s very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life. She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can’t wait for him to be a dad again.
“They are taking the news in their stride.”
The source also added that the pair are rather chilled when it comes to the matter of their relationship.
“They’ve seen each other a lot, they like each other a lot but they still want independent lives."
Friends have claimed that Melanie helped put a smile back on Mick's face after the tragic death of Mick's partner of 13 years, fashion designer L'Wren Scott.
This will be Mick's eighth child from five different women. He's dad to Karis Hunt Jagger, 45, from his relationship with US star Marsha Hunt, 70, Jade Jagger, now 44, with ex-wife Bianca Jagger, 71.
Mick has four kids with ex-partner Jerry Hall, Elizabeth, 32, James, 30, Georgia, 24 and Gabriel, 18.
In 1999 he had a love child, Lucas, 17, after an affair with Brazilian model and TV host Luciana Gimenez.
