Mariah described how her daughter grabs her diamond necklace every time she picks her up.
The diva revealed: ‘I said, 'This is mommy's. You know who bought this for mommy? Mommy. You know how long it took mommy to get it? A really, really long time.’
Mariah was keen to make it clear that she has no desire in spoiling her twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
She said: ‘I want to do presents for the kids, but I don't want to do an enormity of presents.’
‘It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I don't think that they're going to get it and understand what it means this year. They need to appreciate one or two or three gifts.’
‘This is the first time they're really getting that Christmas is an event that they are going to receive gifts.’
Instead of gifting her daughter with diamonds, the star has treated Monroe to a pair of ruby earrings.
Mariah Carey’s single ‘All I Want For Christmas’ has sold its millionth copy recently, 19 years after it was first released.
She’s keen to continue to embrace the Christmas spirit with her brood.
She said: ‘Now they see the tree and they light up. They're so excited ... it's amazing for me to watch and to re-live.’
